“I worked at a bakery slash deli in Santa Monica when I was fifteen. I was an awful… an awful employee. I just, I wasn’t a real, you know - it’s funny, because I’m in the business of, like, you know, it’s like a people industry, you make movies and you do theater or whatever, but I just, I couldn’t get behind, you know, waking up at a certain time, and the, and the - you know, going and serving people, it was just, like, it was awful.

[…] I’ve always been awful at math. I’m not good with numbers. So one day I was called into the manager’s office, ‘cause the till was short. I was brought into the manager’s office, and she said, you know, “We’ve been looking over the paperwork, and we’re three thousand dollars short.” I was like, “I don’t know. Three thousand dollars, I - it’s not my fault.” But apparently it was my fault. I was so bad at that till, three thousand dollars short, she was gonna fire - she thought I was stealing from the deli. I wasn’t stealing from the deli, I was not - not a thief. I was just, you know, I got overwhelmed by the buttons.”
